Who I am...The story of this appraiser
I have been involved in real estate in one way or another since 1999. And just to make this story really
embarrassing right from the start, I started out in real estate by watching a Carleton Sheets infomercial. I was intrigued. I had a full time job as a legal writer. I thought real estate investing would
be an interesting hobby/side business. When my wife and I moved to Colorado in 2000, I continued working on real estate investing. I developed a friendship with a business man in Woodland Park and he became my
business partner. Together we bought and sold houses and then began placing manufactured homes on permanent foundations and selling these turn key packages. My hobby became my career.
My business partner also had a lending business. It was very informal and not very organized. When FNMA changed the appraisal rules for manufactured homes, it dramatically affected our ability to continue to
sell the homes we built. He then hired me as a writer to help him develop his lending business. This became @Value Funding, LLC. in Woodland Park, Colorado. When the business was organized and up and
running, I decided to become a real estate appraiser.
This allowed me to continue working in real estate which is a field that I love. I really enjoy valuing
houses and insuring that appraisals are performed honestly and efficiently.
I've been a real estate appraiser for 4 years now. I am licensed and an FHA approved appraiser. I intend to begin working on my Certified Residential License soon.
Besides working, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking in the mountains, and reading.
In addition to appraising, my wife and I own a writing business called Wordwrights' Ink. My wife has been a full time writer for 10 years, and I've been writing part time for about 5 years. We help build a
bridge between your company and your customers. If you are not interested in my appraisal services but need some help with your written image, we would love to help you out.
I hope to work with to help with your appraisal needs.
Thanks.
